First blog here I come...
May I strive to continue this blog for as long as I shall type and never falter in times of laziness
So, Welcome!
I will be keeping this blog to record my year as an exchange student at Waseda University in Japan starting Fall 2013 under the SILS one year exchange program.
I have already obtained my official acceptance letter from Waseda along with my dorming information, but my flight date is still undetermined and my student visa application is still sitting on my desk. Super last minute, but that's just how I roll.
My dorming information came around Mid July, stating the following:
That I have been accepted into the Waseda University Student House (North Wing) with a single bedroom, my own sink and washroom, a mini fridge, but NO SHOWER.
Lets hope that none of the other students on my floor shower in the mornings eh?
--oh and yes, I'm Canadian.
Waseda University Student House North Wing
Anyhow, it's 7 minutes away from my university and around a 3 minute walk away from a cake shop as shown on the map attached in the email :D
Even as I am sitting on my dining room table over looking all the green naturish stuff that is Canada and sipping on incredibly clean water, I am still unable to grasp that I will be away from all of this for an year...but I WILL BE GOING.
and maybe even as I'm there, I still wont accept the fact that I'm 7573 km away from home
Wow! Your blog does a great job in highlighting your experiences in Japan as an exchange student. I too am interested in travelling to Tokyo to study there for a semester and your posts has helped illustrate life over there. Your blog has inspired me to start my own blog too when I study abroad as I hope to inspire other people/students in travelling to Japan. If you don't mind, I have a few more questions regarding life in Japan. Also, is it alright if I can present your blog in a class presentation that is coming up soon? You have some interesting material that I want to cite and reference to.
